Archival Research Workshop (Adults)

Have you ever wondered how to go about researching at an archives? Join the KMA's archivist to learn about the research resources available at the KMA and the treasures you can discover.

Using Arthur Clemes (a businessman and entrepreneur from Spences Bridge) as a case study to delve into the archives’ collection we will look at a variety of resources held at the KMA to discover more about his life story.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the archivist about their own research projects and interests, and brainstorm how to tackle tricky research objectives.

Join the Kamloops Museum to learn about the history of maple syrup, and its importance in Canadian history! Sample maple syrup and make a maple leaf craft. The history of maple syrup begins each hour on the hour, and will be offered in English and French (10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm). Pre-register, or drop in!

The Art of Taxidermy and Still Life (Ages 13+)

During the Victorian era interior design incorporated whimsical, eccentric Taxidermy display. Warm up with a coffee and join the KMA on Thursday evenings with a local fine arts instructor as you explore drawing, painting, and watercolour techniques with our weekly evocative and dramatic taxidermy vignettes.
