Free Transit Dates

Kamloops residents can enjoy free transit during four special events in 2019.  Riders are encouraged to visit for scheduling.

May 27 - June 2: Bike to Work and School Week (BTWSW)—Transit riders who are riding with their bike or carrying their cycling helmet will receive a free transit ride to their destination during this week.  Information on BTWSW can be found at

July 1: Canada Day—Transit will be free operating with Saturday-level service. The following bus routes will have extended operating hours:

  • Route 1 (Tranquille)
  • Route 2 (Parkcrest)
  • Route 3 (Westsyde)
  • Route 4 (Pacific Way)
  • Route 7 (Aberdeen)
  • Route 16/17 (Juniper-Dallas Combo)
Extended operating hour routes will all have a final departure time of 11:30 pm from the Landsdowne Exchange.
July 24: Midsummer Music Jam BCLC event—Transit will be free for the entire community between the hours of 4:00 pm–10:00 pm for the Midsummer Music Jam featuring Washboard Union.

August 9–11: Kamloops Ribfest—Transit will be free through the duration of Ribfest weekend to all residents.
