Tranquille Road Project is Almost Complete

Release date:
August 30, 2021

Kamloops, BC – The Tranquille Road Sanitary Main Upgrade - Phase 2 project is nearing completion.

Tranquille Road between 12th Street and Southill Street has been undergoing massive utility works since early May of last year and just recently reopened to traffic. Although the road is now open to vehicles, motorists are reminded that the area is still a construction zone while crews continue to work on landscaping and restoration. Please respect the 30 km/hr speed limit.

Residents should also take note of pedestrian and traffic signal changes through the project area. Popp Street has an upgraded pedestrian signal, and there are new traffic devices at Valhalla Drive and Cambridge Crescent. The temporary all-way stop that was installed at 12th Street and Lethbridge Avenue is also scheduled to be removed today. Motorists should exercise extra caution in these areas.

The Dangerous Goods Route, which was temporarily detoured on Ord Road for the majority of the project, will return to Tranquille Road today.

The City would like to thank residents and businesses for their patience during this project.
