Residents Invited to Help Shape the Future of Recreation in Kamloops

Release date:
September 24, 2018

Kamloops residents are invited to share their ideas on the future of recreation in Kamloops as the City of Kamloops develops its first Recreation Master Plan. The plan will help guide the delivery of recreation services, including facilities, programming, and community partnerships, for the next 10 years.

The City will host two open houses in October where residents can provide input on how the City should focus and prioritize investment in facilities and programming and where opportunities may exist or be developed to increase resident participation.

“This plan will define the community’s vision for recreation and guide our decisions over the next decade,” said Linda Stride, the City’s Recreation, Health and Wellness Supervisor. “It’s really important that we get as much feedback as possible from residents so this is truly reflective of the community’s needs and wants.”

The details for the open houses are:

Monday, October 1, 2018
6:00-8:00 pm
Valley First Lounge at
Sandman Centre
300 Lorne Street
Tuesday, October 2, 2018

Both venues are wheelchair accessible and offer free parking.

Residents also have the opportunity to provide input on the plan through an online survey available at Kamloops.ca/RecPlan. Residents who received a postcard in the mail are encouraged to use their unique code to access the survey; however, an open survey is available to all residents. The survey closes on September 30, 2018.
