Kamloops, B.C. –The City of Kamloops has contracted with BA Dawson Blacktop Ltd to carry out road upgrading work on Pacific Way between Hugh Allan Drive and Aberdeen Drive. Construction will start the week of July 11th, with completion by the end of November 2016.
The project will consist of:
- Replacement of 800m of water main;
- Intersection improvements at Howe Road and Greystone Crescent;
- New crosswalk at Greystone Crescent;
- Storm, sanitary, sidewalk and curb/gutter repairs;
- Painted bike lanes; and
- Milling and paving from Hugh Allan Drive to Aberdeen Drive.
The majority of the work will take place during the day from Monday through Saturday, with the possibility of some night work. Anticipated hours of work will be 7:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Driveway access to businesses and residents will be maintained throughout the project. Full closure of Pacific Way, between Howe Road and Greystone Crescent will be in effect during the work, with access permitted only to local and emergency traffic. Adequate detour routes will be signed. Minor disruptions can be expected on the remainder of Pacific Way. Pedestrian traffic will be accommodated during construction with safe walking facilities. Transit service will be maintained to the area, although there will be disruption to transit stops and routes. Transit route information can be found at www.bctransit.com.
