Local Utility Work Will Temporarily Close Portions of Roads in Two Areas

Release date:
June 6, 2019

Starting Sunday, June 9, utility work will close portions of roads in two different areas of Kamloops.

The City and its contractor, Extreme Excavating, will complete a water main repair on the Pacific Way Overpass between 7:00 am on Sunday, June 9, and 8:00 pm on Monday, June 10, 2019. During this time, both northbound traffic lanes on the overpass will be closed, and detours will be in place. Motorists are asked to obey all posted signage and approach the area with caution.

In Brocklehurst, Tranquille Road between Windbreak Street and Schreiner Street will be closed from Monday, June 10, to Friday, June 14, 2019, between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm to allow City utility crews to add water and sewer services to a section of the road.

Detours will be in place during this time, with only local traffic permitted through the area. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to use caution when approaching and to obey all posted signage. Transit users may access four temporary bus stops along the Tranquille Road, Windbreak Street, and Young Avenue corridor during this time. Temporary bus stop locations are indicated by the yellow circles on the map.
