Kamloops Unites to Support Seniors

Release date:
September 11, 2018

The City of Kamloops, the United Way Thompson-Nicola Cariboo, and Interior Community Services are coming together to improve the Seniors Yard Waste Pickup Program and help seniors maintain their independence.

“The City has operated this program for years; however, we are limited in our capacity to administer it properly,” says Natalie Serl, the City’s Acting Social and Community Development Supervisor. “With their Better at Home program, the United Way is better equipped to assess the needs of our residents and administer the program for those with income, mobility, or capacity challenges.”

Registration for the fall pickup starts this week. Seniors are asked to call 250-828-0600 during the hours and dates listed below to ensure they meet eligibility requirements, as some requirements may have changed.
