Kamloops Fire Rescue Launches “Kamloops Homesafe” Program

Release date:
November 20, 2018

Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR), your public safety professionals, are embarking on an exciting new fire and life safety initiative to keep our community safe. Beginning November 20, 2018, KFR will roll out a new, proactive public education program called “Kamloops Homesafe”.

KFR suppression staff will be performing door-to-door public safety visits in various neighbourhoods throughout the city. The purpose of these visits is to educate residents on the importance of working smoke alarms and how to prevent fires in the home. Crews will assist residents with testing smoke alarms and will provide information on fire and life safety.

This new, important, innovative program provides valuable fire and life safety information directly to the community. This is a great opportunity for KFR’s public safety professionals to work directly with the community we serve and promote fire and life safety through education and awareness.

Smoke alarms save lives, and it is KFR’s goal to ensure there is a working smoke alarm in every home in Kamloops.

Residents can learn more about keeping their home fire safe at Kamloops.ca/Homesafe.
