The City of Kamloops received a $2,000 grant from the British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association’s “Give It a Try!” program. We have partnered with local sport organizations, PacificSport Interior BC, TRU Wolfpack, 55+ BC Games Society Zone 8, and PLAYKamloops to host a free, one-day event that will give anyone over the age of 55 an opportunity to try a sport in our community that is offered in the 55+ BC Games cycle.
The Kamloops 55+ Give It a Try event, on Wednesday, July 31, is a great chance for residents to come together through sport and learn more about the 55+ BC Games and the sport and recreation programs available in our city in a fun and social environment.
A variety of sports events will be offered from 4:00 to 6:30 pm throughout the city. This is a free event for residents over the age of 55. View the list of available sports, and register with your PerfectMind account at Kamloops.ca/PerfectMind.
Following the sport events, join us for an evening social and activation station hosted by PLAYKamloops. Visit with new friends from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in Sandman Centre’s Valley First Lounge. Snacks and refreshments will be served, and a cash bar will be available. RSVP to Jodi at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia and the Government of Canada along with the support of our partners and sponsors.
The mission of the BC Seniors Games Society is to improve the health, lifestyle, and image of British Columbia’s 55+ population. This September, the 2019 55+ BC Games will be hosted in Kelowna, and the following year, Kamloops will host the 2020 Canada 55+ Games!
