Release date:
July 2, 2021

Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) has rescinded the tactical evacuation order of Capilano Drive and Nechako Drive in Juniper Ridge and all evacuated residents may return home. No structures have been lost in the fire.

The fire is currently listed as under control, and KFR and BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) will continue to action hot spots on the fire today with the addition of air assets from BCWS. Residents are asked to avoid the area to allow work to continue safely.

The City asks all residents and businesses to continue to reduce irrigation to protect water supply for the fire crews.

The City thanks residents for their cooperation and patience during this stressful time. Disasters, such as wildfires, can impact your emotional health as much as your physical health. Learn what you can do to recognize signs of stress or trauma in yourself and your family at HealthLinkBC.ca.
