Release date:
January 10, 2018

Kamloops, BC - Each year, January is designated as “Crime Stoppers Month”, which gives the Kamloops & District Crime Stoppers program the opportunity to highlight success stories and thank its sponsors and supporters. The Kamloops & District Crime Stoppers program was created in 1984, joining the 23 other programs that represented all areas of BC outside of Metro Vancouver. In 2017, Kamloops & District Crime Stoppers tips led to 14 arrests and 34 charges laid. Since its inception, Kamloops & District Crime Stoppers tips contributed to a total of 1,519 arrests have been made, 490 charges laid, 240 weapons recovered and over $60m of drugs seized.
The success of the program would not have been achieved without the many volunteers, sponsors, businesses, organizations, and law enforcement agencies that contribute to the operation. Equally as important are the citizens of Kamloops and district who submit information that helps solve crimes.

If you have information on an unsolved crime or wish to anonymously report suspicious activity, please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Lines are open 24 hours a day. Cash awards are available and will be paid anonymously.
