COVID-19 Potential Exposure at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre on July 30, 2021

Release date:
August 7, 2021

Interior Health has informed the City of Kamloops that two individuals who attended the Canada Games Aquatic Centre at the Tournament Capital Centre (TCC) on the afternoon of July 30, 2021, have tested positive for COVID-19.

Interior Health is contacting all people who attended the public swim on July 30, 2021, from 1:45-2:45 pm and instructing them to isolate for 14 days from that date. TCC staff are not required to isolate as the nature of their work keeps them physically distanced from guests of the facility. Everyone, including TCC staff, is required to monitor symptoms.

While the City is no longer required to have people register for contract tracing purposes, a list of everyone at the pool during this period has been made available to Interior Health as the City is still requiring registration for visits to the Canada Games Aquatic Centre.
