Community Services Front Counter Services Now More Accessible

Effective Monday, June 20, 2022, most in-person services for Community Services will be relocated from Mission Flats Road to the North Shore Community Policing Office at 915 7th Street to provide increased service and accessibility to residents. The North Shore Community Policing Office is located in a commercial centre, which provides easier access and parking for residents to conduct their business.

In addition to the North Shore Community Policing Office, City Hall will continue to provide dog licensing and ticket/fine payment services. The Community Services office at 1303 Mission Flats Road will be by appointment only for animal cremations and reuniting with lost dogs.

Services now offered at the North Shore Community Policing Office location:

  • dog licensing (paying for a dog licence and picking up a tag)
  • in-person ticket/fine payments for bylaw and parking violations
  • ticket/fine disputes
  • bike locker rentals
  • parking permits (residential, commercial, utility, reserved, courtesy)

Services offered at City Hall:

  • dog licensing (paying for a dog licence and picking up a tag)
  • in-person ticket/fine payments for bylaw and parking violations

Services offered at the Mission Flats (appointment only):

  • animal cremations
  • dog kennels (picking up lost dogs)
  • pick-up of lost/seized property
     

“We continually review our processes to respond to feedback from residents and provide better service,” said Tammy Blundell, the City’s Community Services Manager. “Our main goal is to support both customers and staff where we can, and we will evaluate the impact of this change to ensure a positive experience.”

This move is part of an ongoing effort to offer more streamlined processes. Residents are reminded to utilize the online tools that are available to pay a fine or to purchase a dog licence at Kamloops.ca/Payment to avoid line-ups at City facilities. Online accepted form of payments includes Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit, Mastercard Debit, and Interac Online.

The North Shore Community Policing Office is open to the public 8:30 am–4:30 pm (closed 12:00–1:00 pm) year-round. For more information on how to connect with Community Services, visit Kamloops.ca/Bylaw.
