Kamloops, BC – With the arrival of cooler weather and longer, more humid nights, the City of Kamloops and Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) will be opening all of the City’s nature parks effective 10:00 am on Friday, August 25.
Fire Chief Mike Adams stated, “We want to remind residents to continue to be fire safe and remain vigilant in reporting fires. We’re thankful to residents for their support and understanding throughout the summer. We all play a role in keeping our community safe.”
Parks crews are in the process of removing park closure signs, and residents are welcome to start visiting the parks again at any point after 10:00 am today.
The City and KFR thank Kamloops residents for their continued co-operation and urge them to remain diligent throughout the year. If you suspect a fire, call 911 immediately. Residents can always play a part in fire prevention by staying aware, reporting fires immediately, and keeping ignition sources away from dry areas.
Smoking is always prohibited in all City parks, and residents should be extremely cautious with cigarettes in all areas.
