City of Kamloops Adopts Downtown Plan

Release date:
December 20, 2019

The Downtown Plan was adopted in a unanimous vote by Council on December 17, 2019, following a presentation by Jason Locke, the City’s Community Planning and Sustainability Manager.

The Downtown Plan is the result of a comprehensive engagement process that began in early 2018 and included input from residents, stakeholders, Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, Council, an advisory committee, and City staff.

The Community Planning team would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in the engagement process and provide feedback, which helped in the development of the plan.

City staff look forward to continuing to work with the community as they begin the process of implementing the plan and achieving the vision of a “vibrant, well-connected, and welcoming” Downtown.

The Downtown Plan and related documents from the plan review and update process are available on the City’s website at Kamloops.ca/DowntownPlan.
