City Announces the Build Kamloops Celebration of the Arts Event

The City invites residents to a one-of-a-kind, experiential event designed to showcase and celebrate arts and culture in our community. 


The Build Kamloops Celebration of the Arts is a unique event to commemorate the proposed Kamloops Centre for the Arts. 


The event will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024, 5:00–7:00 pm, at 393 Seymour Street—the site of the future Kamloops Centre for the Arts—and will showcase local arts and culture organizations and highlight the wide range of future opportunities at this flagship facility.


“We welcome residents of all ages. This event is for everyone and will have something for everyone, just like the Kamloops Centre for the Arts will. Our goal is to showcase the varied opportunities the Kamloops Centre for the Arts will offer in a fun, unique, experiential way,” said Dušan Magdolen, the City’s Cultural Services and Events Manager.


“The Build Kamloops Celebration of the Arts is more than just a celebration; it is a catalyst for change, growth, and enrichment that will contribute to a legacy in our community. Together, we can turn this vision into a promising reality, ensuring that Kamloops continues to thrive as a vibrant cultural and economic hub.”


The Build Kamloops Celebration of the Arts will feature:


•    live music and entertainment
•    food vendors and bar (beer and wine)
•    interactive displays and experiential activities
•    public address from local dignitaries past and present
•    and more


Experience the future of culture in Kamloops! 


This will be an open-air gathering, rain or shine, and entry will be by donation (proceeds will go to the involved arts organizations).


The event is presented in partnership with the Kamloops Symphony, the Kamloops Film Society, the Kamloops Art Gallery, the Kamloops Museum and Archives, and Western Canada Theatre and is proudly supported by Kelson Group Property Management.
