Celebrate Family Day with the City of Kamloops

Release date:
January 29, 2020
On Monday, February 17, the 8th Annual Family Day Festival will take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Tournament Capital Centre (TCC). The TCC’s indoor Fieldhouse will be transformed into a free festival space for families with children of all ages.
Community organizations and businesses will bring a wide range of family-focused activities into one place. Festival goers will have an opportunity to get creative with arts and crafts, have their faces painted, enjoy live performances, experiment with science, play new sports, and try some musical instruments. Several food vendors with delicious offerings will also be on site, and there will be lots of seating for mid-festival munching. There will be something for everyone!
Think sustainably—consider alternative transportation to the TCC, bring a lunch from home in a reusable container, and don’t forget to bring your own eco bags from home to carry your festival goodies. The Kamloops Food Bank will also be at the door to collect non-perishable food items.
In addition to this free family festival, we are also offering toonie skate and swimming programs. For only two dollars per person, families are invited to enjoy:
  • Public skating at McArthur Island Olympic Rink, 10:00 am–12:00 pm
  • Public swimming at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre, 1:00–4:00 pm
