Call for Suppliers to Apply and Join the City of Kamloops Catering List

Release date:
October 18, 2021

Kamloops, BC – The City of Kamloops is developing a list of approved catering suppliers for City-run events and is encouraging food and beverage suppliers to apply by December 3, 2021, to be included. Applicants that meet the criteria will be added to an informal catering supplier list, which will be referenced for small lunches and meetings on an ongoing basis as needed. Up to three suppliers may also be contracted to provide formal catering services for larger-scale events.

“The City is a frequent user of catering services and would like to maintain a record of viable catering options,” said Carly Norris, the City’s Procurement Analyst. “Having a list of qualified suppliers will help ensure that City departments have access to a variety of food and beverage services to call upon when it is safe to resume in-person meetings, workshops, and engagement sessions.”

All restaurants, coffee shops, caterers, and other food and beverage providers are encouraged to submit proposals. Required documentation includes a WorkSafeBC clearance letter, a City of Kamloops business licence, proof of insurance, proof of an occupational health and safety program, and completion of a questionnaire listing the business’s available food and beverage services.

To apply, businesses must create an account on Bonfire, the City’s digital purchasing and procurement platform. Once registered, users can view project details and apply for open competitive bids. Users can also view the details of previously awarded bids.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply by December 3, 2021, at Kamloops.ca/Bonfire.
