2021 Social and Community Development Grants Awarded

Kamloops BC – After a thorough evaluation facilitated by City of Kamloops staff and the Social Planning and Healthy Kamloops Engagement Groups, over $108,000 in Social and Community Development Grant awards have been awarded to support special projects and capital and operational costs for non-profit organizations in our community. The grants are awarded to agencies that address priorities identified in the Kamloops Social Plan and/or align with City Council’s Strategic goal of livability.

Thirteen applications were received for this year’s grant cycle. Based on the recommendations of the engagement groups, the Community and Protective Services Department has awarded funding to the following successful applicants:

  • A Way Home Kamloops
  • Association Francophone de Kamloops
  • Boys and Girls Club of Kamloops
  • Centre for Seniors Information
  • Hills of Peace Lutheran Church
  • Kamloops Sexual Assault and Counselling Centre
  • The Modern Man Project
  • Spinal Cord Injury BC
  • Kamloops YMCA/YWCA
  • Kamloops Food Policy Council
  • Thompson Nicola Cariboo United Way

Funds will be distributed in January 2021 and must be spent by November 1, 2021.
