Victoria Street West Improvements Project

UPDATED November 13, 2019

Crews will pave the final section of Victoria Street West east of the Overlanders Bridge near Craftsman Collision and Signature Signs and Printing on Thursday, November 14.

On paving day, the Victoria Street West corridor will be temporarily opened to four lanes of traffic; however, motorists and transit users should still expect significant delays from 7:00 am until early evening, and commuters may want to consider taking alternate routes that day.

Detours will be in place for traffic travelling down Summit Drive or from Mission Flats Road and destined for the North Shore via the Overlanders Bridge. Motorists are advised to avoid Summit Drive if possible and to use the Halston Bridge to access the North Shore.

Westbound traffic east of the Overlanders Bridge near Craftsman Collision and Signature Signs and Printing should expect some temporary road closures (up to 20 minutes at times). Both Craftsman Collision and Signature Signs and Printing will remain open and accessible. Directional signage and flaggers will be in place to assist motorists with accessing these businesses.

Valleyview Drive (1800 block)

Kamloops Fire Rescue are onsite as FortisBC crews work to repair a damaged gas line that was hit earlier today in the 1800 block of Valleyview Drive. Only local traffic will be allowed into the area while FortisBC crews complete the repairs. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to use an alternate route and obey signage and traffic control personnel at the scene until the repairs are completed.
