HELP KEEP OUR BEACHES, ROADWAYS, AND PARKS LITTER FREE
Sunday, September 30, 2018 10:00 am–12:00 pm McDonald Park
The City of Kamloops is partnering with the North Shore Business Improvement Association (NSBIA) to host a volunteer cleanup of four key areas in North Kamloops. This community event will take place on Sunday, September 30, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The event has been organized in an effort to keep our beaches, roadways, and parks litter free. Similar to the City’s Adopt-A-Road Program, volunteers will collect litter along specific routes to be placed for pickup by City staff.
The event will wrap up with a hot dog BBQ for volunteers, to be held at McDonald Park from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, sponsored by Cain’s Independent Grocer. Volunteers are encouraged to come enjoy entertainment and celebrate the community.
Volunteers should come to McDonald Park at 9:30 am, where they will receive collection materials, route maps, and instructions on safe handling procedures for items like glass, sharps, or other hazardous waste. It is recommended that volunteers wear closed-toed shoes and bring high-vis vests and/or work gloves if they have them.
