Community Better Challenge

Residents of Kamloops are invited to participate in ParticipACTION’s “Community Better” challenge—a national competition where communities will compete for a $100,000 prize.

The challenge, which kicks off June 1 and runs until June 30, encourages communities across Canada to connect with friends and neighbours and build social bonds while participating in physical activity.

With support from the City of Kamloops, School District No. 73 (SD73), PacificSport Interior BC, and other local organizations, PLAY Kamloops is leading the local campaign to get Kamloops residents moving.

To get started, create an account on the ParticipACTION website or track your physical activity minutes on the ParticipACTION app to help your community win! You also have the chance to win great prizes for yourself when you use the app.

Be sure to follow PLAY Kamloops on social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) for updates. Track your active minutes and help us win the title of Canada's most active community! PLAY Kamloops will post the Movement Calendar at

If Kamloops wins the Community Better Challenge, the money will go towards initiatives that encourage social connection, community building, and physical activity.
