What brings together a community better than presenting a community challenge to stuff a bus full of food for the Kamloops Food Bank?
In partnership with BC Transit, the City hosted Kamloops’ first ever Stuff the Bus event on December 8 and 9 at the Columbia Square Save-On-Foods. Residents showed strong support for this event by donating $1,400 and 6,072 lbs. of food. We would like to give a shout out to Save-On-Foods for preparing and selling 281 pre-packaged donations—surpassing their goal of 100—which contributed to the total donation amount.
Twenty-one City volunteers, including staff from Kamloops Fire Rescue, helped to make this event happen. We would also like to give special mention to B100, 5Bean Brewbar and Café, First Canada ULC, BC Transit, and, of course, the Kamloops Food Bank.
The City of Kamloops and BC Transit thank you for making someone’s holiday a little brighter!
