Get out and bike Kamloops! Biking encourages health and fitness benefits and saves money on transportation costs.
Have you seen the funky looking bike racks in town? In May 2017, the City purchased two car bike ports through a grant from the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development’s Climate Action Revenue Incentive Program. Each spring, the car bike ports are installed at different locations throughout the city. The car bike port is an innovative bike parking solution that fits into a standard car parking space. Its unique, eye-catching design sends out a clear message that bike are more space efficient than cars. One car parking space can park up to 10 bikes. Currently, the bike ports are located on the 200 block of Tranquille Road in front of Reubin’s Diner and on St. Paul Street at 3rd Avenue, a perfect place to park your bike and stroll the Saturday Farmers’ Market and explore downtown!
