City Signs Letter of Understanding with Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc

On Tuesday, February 27, 2019, the City of Kamloops and Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS) signed an important document that signifies a move towards a formalized cultural heritage protocol

The Letter of Understanding (LOU) of Negotiation and Formalization of Cultural Heritage Protocol Agreement solidifies both parties' commitments to preserving and promoting Secwépemc values, including the protection of TteS's cultural heritage resources, and will ultimately serving as a building block for a future engagement plan. 

Mayor Ken Christian and Kúkpi7 Rosanne Casimir signed the document in TteS Council Chambers, with a number of City Council and TteS Council members present.
