The Bylaw Enforcement Division works to promote compliance with the City's bylaws, regulations, and programs. These services are primarily accomplished through public relations, education and awareness programs, and enforcement.
Our dedicated staff and officers assist many City departments and community partners such as police, social agencies, community groups, and other levels of government to promote and maintain Kamloops as a great and safe community to live in and visit.
Our mandate is to:
- Promote peace and order in the community
- Promote public safety
- Enforce rules for use of water, roads, and sewers to prevent abuse, overuse, or damage to the systems
- Enforcement and promotion for safe use of parks, facilities, and public property, to reduce liability to the City
- Support community enhancement
