Home Owners Grant (eHOG)

June 25 Public Notice: The City of Kamloops website was unavailable from 8:00 pm June 23 until 3:30 am June 24 due to an issue with Telus - the City's Internet provider. This outage affected e-services such as our city website and email, Homeowner Grant applications (eHOG) and MyCity. If you tried to access the City website during this seven-hour period and were unable to, we apologize for the inconvenience. The Home Owner Grant is a provincial subsidy program that reduces the amount of property tax you pay for your principal residence. Property owners must meet the eligibility requirements and complete an application form each year.

How to Claim Your Home Owner Grant

Apply Online 

NOTE: On Tuesday, September 18, 2018, between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm, the eHOG service will be offline for scheduled maintenance. 

Access eHOG
Have your Tax Notice nearby (for Folio Number and Access Code) before claiming your grant online. For help understanding your property tax statement view our Sample Tax Notice with Descriptions.

Apply in Person or via Mail

Use the application form included with your tax notice and submit your application to City Hall.

PLEASE NOTE: Home Owner Grant applications must be filed annually. Any applications that are incomplete, unclaimed, or late will result in penalty charges. Grants that are not claimed are considered equivalent to unpaid taxes and subject to penalty charges.
