Strathcona Drainage Upgrades

Project Scope

he City of Kamloops has contracted Extreme Excavating Ltd. to perform upgrades to the Strathcona drainage system. The project includes lining of the stormwater pipe passing under Strathcona Terrace in order to improve the pipe function and stability. Additional stormwater upgrades will also be completed including replacement of catchbasins on Strathcona Terrace, and placement of pipe in the gully to the north. Crews will be working on Strathcona Terrace with heavy equipment and will have one lane closed for a portion of the project. The multi-use path north of Strathcona Terrace may be closed intermittently as well in order for equipment access to the gully.

Traffic, Transit and Pedestrian Impacts

Strathcona Terrace may have lane closures. Please obey all traffic control personnel and equipment when driving in the vicinity of the construction.

The multi-use path north of Strathcona Terrace may also have intermittent closures. Please watch for signage in the area.  

The bus stop near 503 Strathcona Terrace will be temporarily relocated for the duration of the project. 

Hours of Work

Work will begin on August 27, 2020 and is expected to take approximately one month. Hours of work are 7:00 am-7:00 pm, Monday–Friday.
