The City of Kamloops has contracted BA Dawson Blacktop Ltd. to begin the upgrades on Qu'Appelle Boulevard from Highland Road to Omineca Drive. This project is being done in conjunction with the Safer Schools initiative at Juniper Ridge Elementary. The project will consist of:
- milling and paving
- storm drainage improvements
- pedestrian upgrades, including safety improvements around Juniper Ridge Elementary
Construction is scheduled to occur Monday to Saturday, 7:00 am-7:00 pm, with additional night/weekend work as required. Driveway access to residents and businesses may be temporarily restricted to accommodate construction; we regret any inconvenience this may cause. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible.
Residents are also advised that throughout the construction period, vibratory compaction equipment will be in use; therefore, any fragile items should be packaged or protected from damage due to vibration. Residential garbage collection schedule will not be affected. To minimize any impact to residential garbage collection, please have your containers out by 7:00 am as per Solid Waste and Recyclables Bylaw No. 40-59. Please obey all traffic control personnel and equipment when driving in the vicinity of the construction.
