Parkade Membrane Replacement

Estimated cost:
Unitech Construction Management

The City of Kamloops has contracted Unitech Construction Management Ltd. for the replacement of the traffic deck membrane in both downtown parkades (Lansdowne Street and Seymour Street). The traffic deck membrane is designed to protect concrete structures from moisture, and needs to be replaced as part of regular maintenance. This replacement will result in the full closure of each parkade for approximately one month each.

The Seymour Street Parkade will be closed starting July 6, 2020. Once complete, crews will move to the Lansdowne Street Parkade. Weather-permitting, the project is expected to be complete by the end of August, 2020.

This work has been scheduled consecutively to ensure one parkade remains open at all times. Alternatively, off-street parking is also available in the following City-owned surface parking lots:

  • 300 St. Paul Street
  • 400 Lorne Street
  • 500 Lorne Street
  • Heritage House parking lot
  • Sandman Centre north parking lot
  • Riverside Park west-end lot

As the City is not currently collecting parking fees in the parkades and City-owned surface lots, this parking is available on a first come, first served basis. If you have questions about alternative downtown parking options, please contact us at 250-828-3409 or
