Effective September 3, both downtown parkades are open to the public.

The City of Kamloops has contracted Unitech Construction Management Ltd. for the replacement of the traffic deck membrane in both downtown parkades (Lansdowne Street and Seymour Street). The traffic deck membrane is designed to protect concrete structures from moisture, and needs to be replaced as part of regular maintenance. This replacement will result in the full closure of each parkade for approximately one month each.

Work is almost complete at the Seymour Street Parkade, which will reopen at 7:00 am on Monday, August 10, 2020. The Lansdowne Street Parkade will be closed for approximately one month starting Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Weather-permitting, the project is expected to be complete by the end of August, 2020.

This work has been scheduled consecutively to ensure one parkade remains open at all times. Alternatively, off-street parking is also available in the following City-owned surface parking lots:

  • 300 St. Paul Street
  • 400 Lorne Street
  • 500 Lorne Street
  • Heritage House parking lot
  • Sandman Centre north parking lot
  • Riverside Park west-end lot

As the City is not currently collecting parking fees in the parkades and City-owned surface lots, this parking is available on a first come, first served basis. Parking fees will be reinstated effective September 7, 2020, for all surface lots and parkades. Visit Kamloops.ca/Parking for details.
