Project Scope

Juniper Creek, directly adjacent to Barnhartvale Road, has been slowly eroding. The City of Kamloops is taking measures to mitigate the erosion of the creek bed by re-shaping the channel/creek bed.

The City of Kamloops has contracted Extreme Excavating Ltd to complete the creek rehabilitation, environmental management and temporary storm water management. 

Construction will take place from October 22 to January 2019. Working hours are 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. 

Project Value: $1,600,000.

The Juniper Creek Channel Improvement is being upgraded and improved thanks to financial contributions from the Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia and the City of Kamloops.

Traffic Impacts

Traffic may be affected for the duration  of the project. Single lane alternating traffic may be in effect on Barnhartvale Road. Please obey all traffic control personnel and equipment and use caution when driving in the vicinity of the construction.

Resident Impacts

Residents are advised that, if structures are within the vicinity of construction, vibratory compaction equipment may be in use; therefore, any fragile items should be packaged or protected from damage due to vibration.  There may also be noise disruption due to equipment on site.
