April 10, 2018:The RECO Wall Panels for the north side of the project arrived last week and are currently being installed. The south side of the project has been excavated to the maximum amount for the slope to remain stable without intruding on the archeological site, however, additional work is still required before work on the south wall can commence. Provincial permits for archaeological work have delayed completion until early summer 2018.

The City has contracted Acres Enterprises Ltd. to construct a bridge to replace the existing multi-plate culvert that was damaged during the flooding in the spring of 2017. Work commenced on October 23, 2017, with an anticipated completion by early summer 2018.

Work includes, but is not limited to:

  • removal and disposal of existing embankment and culvert
  • utility relocation and protection
  • construction of a new bridge structure
  • embankment and road restoration

Construction is scheduled to occur Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-5:00 pm, with additional night and weekend work being performed as required.

Residents are advised that throughout the construction period, vibratory compaction equipment will be in use; therefore, any fragile items should be packaged or protected from damage due to vibration.

The construction site will be closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic for the duration of the project. Please obey all traffic control personnel and equipment when driving in the vicinity of the construction.
