The City of Kamloops has contracted BA Dawson Blacktop Ltd. to resurface Halston Avenue from Ollek Street to Kingston Avenue. The contractor is scheduled to commence work on July 25, 2018, with completion anticipated by September 2018. Work includes, but is not limited to:
- milling and paving
- storm drainage improvements
Construction is scheduled to occur Monday to Saturday, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, with additional night/weekend work being performed as required.
Driveway access to residences and businesses may be temporarily restricted to accommodate construction; we regret any inconvenience this may cause. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible.
Residents are also advised that throughout the construction period, vibratory compaction equipment will be in use; therefore, any fragile items should be packaged or protected from damage due to vibration.
Residential garbage collection will not be affected. To minimize any impact to residential garbage collection, please have your containers out by 7:00 am as per Solid Waste and Recyclables Bylaw No. 40-59.
Access to businesses will be maintained throughout the project. While pedestrian access will also be maintained, please be aware that pedestrian routes and/or crosswalks may be affected. Bus stops will also be temporarily relocated.
Traffic patterns and detours may change, so please obey all traffic control personnel, signage, and equipment when driving in the vicinity of the construction. Please note that the Dangerous Goods Truck Route will be detoured to Ord Road until September 7, 2018.
