Project Scope

The City of Kamloops has contracted BA Dawson Blacktop Ltd to strip and repave Greenfield Avenue between Schreiner Street and Windbreak Street. We are advising residents in the area that this work is scheduled to begin October 12 and will encompass the following scope of work:

  • milling and paving asphalt;
  • reconstruction of curb and gutter;
  • construction of two bus pads; and
  • pavement markings and signage.

Hours of Work

Work will begin October 12, depending on weather conditions, and is expected to be complete by the beginning of November. Construction is scheduled to occur Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–5:00 pm, with the possibility of some weekend work.

Resident Impacts

Throughout the construction period, vibratory compaction equipment may be in use; therefore, any fragile items should be packaged or protected from damage due to vibration. There may also be noise disruption due to equipment on site.

Garbage collection will not be affected.

Transit will be rerouted via Fleetwood Avenue. Stops on Greenfield Avenue will be closed with temporary stops located on Fleetwood Avenue.

Traffic Impacts

Greenfield Avenue will be closed for the duration of the project, with the exception of local traffic. Driveway access to residents may be temporarily restricted during construction. On-street parking is not permitted during working hours. Please obey all traffic control personnel and equipment when driving in the vicinity of the construction.
