The City of Kamloops has contracted BA Dawson Blacktop Ltd to mill and repave Lansdowne Street, Victoria Street and Battle Street between 7th Avenue and 13th Avenue. This work is scheduled to begin in mid-September, weather dependent, and will encompass the following scope of work:
• replacing water, storm and sanitary castings;
• milling and paving of asphalt;
• replacing curb, gutter and some areas of sidewalk;
• upgrading fire hydrants
• installing electrical ducting for future pedestiran upgrades; and
• road markings.
HOURS OF WORK
Work will begin September 13 and is expected to be complete by the end of October. Construction is scheduled to occur Monday–Saturday, 7:00 am–5:00 pm.
One travel lane in each direction will be maintained at all times, with the exception of a short-term full closure of 10th Avenue. There will be NO on-street parking for the duration of the project. Please obey all traffic control personnel, signage, and equipment when driving in the vicinity. Expect delays and plan accordingly.
RESIDENT AND BUSINESS IMPACTS
Throughout the construction period, vibratory compaction equipment may be in use; therefore, any fragile items should be packaged or protected from damage due to vibration. There may also be noise disruption due to equipment on site.
Transit will not be impacted, however users should expect delays.
Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.
