Updates:
May 11, 2020 – With the unexpected closure of the Tournament Capital Centre (TCC) due to COVID-19, site setup and selective demolition will start this week.

The Canada Games Aquatic Centre opened to the public in 1993 after hosting the Canada Summer Games. The building envelope (walls and roof), mechanical; electrical; and heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems have all been well maintained, but they are original to the building and are near or past their expected design life.

As part of the Asset Management Program, the City will be proceeding with updates to the Canada Games Aquatic Centre that will extend the life of the pool envelope and critical operating components. The project will also include several components to improve the overall sustainability, accessibility, and functionality of the building.

The construction and repairs of the infrastructure necessitates the closure of the pool, the wet changerooms, and the dry changerooms/washrooms near the reception area, from June 25, 2020 through January 2, 2021.
