In all construction areas, please obey all traffic control personnel, signage, and equipment when driving in the vicinity. Expect delays and plan accordingly.

Construction & Maintenance

Dallas Drive Roundabout

May 24–27, 2022 | Dallas Drive and Todd Road Roundabout

Exit 384 will be closed to all vehicles with the exception of transit from 7:00 am–4:00 pm. Motorists should use Kokanee Way/Exit 388 to access Dallas Drive. Golf course traffic will be permitted through the work zone.

Lac Le Jeune Road

May 30–July 15 | Sugarloaf Road to 1720 Lac Le Jeune Road

Crews will be paving Lac Le Jeune Road starting May 30. Construction is scheduled to occur Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–4:00 pm. During work hours, traffic will be reduced to single-lane alternating. Expect delays and plan accordingly.

4th Avenue/Battle Street

March 21–June 2022 | Battle Street from 3rd Ave - 4th Ave & 4th Ave from Battle Street to Columbia Street

4th Avenue between Columbia Street and Battle Street will be closed to northbound traffic while allowing free-flowing southbound traffic. Project details can be viewed at LetsTalk.Kamloops.ca. 

Effective April 27, Routes 6 and 9 will have temporary detours. Starting May 1, Route 7 will have detours, and two stops on the northside of Columbia Street will be closed, with a temporary stop on the west side of Columbia Street at 3rd Avenue. Visit LetsTalk.Kamloops.ca.  for more information. 

Lorne Street

May 9–September 30, 2022 | Mt Paul Way to 10th Avenue

Lorne Street between 7th Avenue and 10th Avenue will be closed with the exception of local traffic. Between Mt Paul Way and 7th Avenue, expect intermittent closures and/or single lane traffic. Effective May 25, 8th Avenue will be closed to traffic. The intersection of Lorne Street and 10th Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction during resurfacing work. Access to Pioneer Park, the boat launch and the Tennis Club will be maintained via 7th Avenue.

Fleetwood Avenue

March 14–August 2022 | Holt Street to Desmond Street

Fleetwood Avenue between Holt Street and Desmond Street will be closed for the duration of the project, with the exception of local traffic. 

Effective March 7, transit Route 2 will operate on Parkcrest Avenue between Southill Street and Holt Street. Temporary bus stops will be in place as indicated on the map. Visit NextRide or BCTransit.com/Kamloops for further details. 

Please note that from May 16 to June 3, restoration work will be taking place on Fleetwood Avenue between Southill Street and Holt Street. The road will be closed with the exception of local traffic.

Summit Drive

September 2021–June 2022 | Whiteshield Cres South to Notre Dame Drive

One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained, although single lane alternating traffic may be occasionally be in effect in off-peak hours. Project details can be viewed at LetsTalk.Kamloops.ca/Summit-Downtown.

Go By Bike Week

May 30–June 5

The City of Kamloops and BC Transit are offering free transportation for cyclists during Go By Bike Week, from May 30 through June 5. 

In order to ride for free in the Kamloops and Prince George transit systems, Go By Bike participants must use the bus bike racks or show their bike helmet when boarding the bus. All conventional BC Transit buses are equipped with bike racks on the front of the bus.

BC Hydro Improvement Work

Sept 28 - Spring 2022 | 2740 Tranquille Road

Traffic will be reduced to single-lane, alternating traffic on the westbound side of Tranquille Road. There will also be temporary street parking restrictions within the construction zone during this time. Construction will not restrict access to the driveways in this area. Crews will be on site Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
