Water Main Flushing

Pineview Valley and Mount Dufferin Area's
Since the opening of the Kamloops Centre for Water Quality and the introduction of the new filtration process in 2005, the City has been flushing water mains to remove years of sediment and provide clear water to residents.

During the months of February and March 2009, the City of Kamloops will be flushing water mains in the Pineview Valley and Mount Dufferin area's.

Flushing hours are 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

NOTICES WILL BE DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR 24 TO 48 HOURS BEFORE ANY WORK STARTS TO ADVISE PROPERTY OWNERS ON WHICH DAY WATER MAINS IN THEIR AREA WILL BE FLUSHED.

Flushing hours are between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

The flushing program will remove built up sediment and helps improve water quality.

During this operation, poor water pressure and or turbid water may result. This should only last a few hours.

Please refrain from using water during the flushing operation as silt may be drawn into household systems.

Drinking water can be stored prior to water main flushing and used as required during the flushing operation.

If turbid water is detected after flushing has been completed in the area, then turn on a COLD water tap until water becomes clear.

After Hours: Call 372-1710
