Traffic Engineering
The Traffic Engineering staff is responsible for daily traffic operations in the City.
The division conducts traffic investigations in response to citizens requests for various
traffic control devices such as crosswalks, stop signs, lane marking changes, parking
restrictions, new traffic signals and modifications to signal timing.
In addition, the section handles other traffic related support functions such as, Engineering and Traffic Surveys (determining appropriate speed limits), school zone signing and pavement markings, traffic control requirements as part of special events, issuing various permits (road right of way permits, Special event permits, Oversized vehicle permits, etc.) high accident location investigations, along with the management of traffic engineering related capital improvement projects.
