Social Planning Council
In June 1993, the City of Kamloops established the Social Planning Council to act in an advisory capacity to City Council on social issues in the community. The committee, consisting of nine citizens-at-large, ex-officio members from City staff and various social service agencies, makes recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on a wide variety of social concerns, planning issues and development of municipal strategies to meet community social needs.
