Safer City
Overview
Safer City was initiated by ICBC in 2001 with Kamloops selected as the pilot city. Since then, seven other cities in BC have taken on the program, including Abbotsford, Chilliwack, the Langleys, Maple Ridge, Nanaimo and Saanich.

The goal of Safer City is to achieve safer roads for all users with a proactive approach rather than the customary reactive based approach.
Safer City considers the 3 E's - Engineering, Enforcement and Education - at the heart of all of its projects. Through Safer City we strive to make road safety a fundamental and routine consideration in the daily practices of City Engineers, City Council, RCMP, School District, and the community.
