Water Treatment Plant Repairs Ongoing

Kamloops, BC – The City has activated the Emergency Operations Centre to a Level 2 response as a result of the power failure and subsequent programming issues at the Water Treatment Plant.

As a precaution, City staff is working in conjunction with the Interior Health Authority to investigate temporary measures to supply water to residents through the distribution system, should this be required until the plant is operational.

All residents are urged to continue reducing water usage to essential needs only until further notice.

Kamloops Fire Rescue has increased its staffing levels and adjusted its resources to be able to respond to incidents or fires that may occur.

The City of Kamloops thanks residents for their cooperation.
