Upgrades Coming to Summit Drive

Kamloops, B.C. –The City has contracted with BA Dawson Blacktop Ltd to carry out upgrade work at the intersection of Summit Drive and McGill Road, as well as along the south side of Summit Drive from Columbia Street West to the Summit Shopping Centre entrance.

Construction will start July 4 with anticipated completion by the end of August. 

The projects will consist of the installation of sidewalk along the south side of Summit Drive; boulevard restoration; removal and modifications to the existing concrete island in North West corner of the Summit Drive and McGill Road intersection; and installation of a truck turning apron.

The majority of the work will take place during the week day, with the possibility of some night work and weekend work. Anticipated hours of work will be 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

A minimum of two lanes of traffic (one each direction) will be kept open throughout the construction period. Access to businesses will be maintained throughout the project. Pedestrian traffic will be accommodated during construction with safe walking facilities. Transit service will be maintained.
