Council Meeting on Ajax Postponed

Kamloops, B.C. - The City of Kamloops has decided to postpone a Special Council Meeting set for May 9, 2016 regarding the KGHM Ajax Mine Application review, while awaiting further details from the BC Environmental Assessment Office (EAO).

The EAO has recently notified the City that there will be a delay in the 180-day application review period, to allow KGHM Ajax Mining Ltd. sufficient time to respond to a number of technical questions asked by both the public and the technical working group.

In the coming weeks, EAO will work with the company to develop a revised schedule, which the EAO will share with the City of Kamloops as soon as it is available.

It was decided that the May 9, 2016, Special Meeting be postponed so that the City's consultant can receive KGHM Ajax Mining Ltd.'s responses and then complete its review prior to presenting a final report to Council.
