Food Trucks Return for 2016

Kamloops, BC - The City of Kamloops is pleased to announce updates to its Food Truck and Food Trailer Program.

For the 2016 season, the On-street Food Truck and Food Trailer Program will focus on encouraging vendors to provide great food at the City's beautifully landscaped Gaglardi Square. Up to two standard‑sized food trucks may be permitted to operate at the same time at this Seymour Street location on weekdays, while one truck may be permitted on weekends.

Earlier set-up hours (9:00 am on weekdays and 7:00 am on weekends) provide an opportunity for increased food service at this location.

Program Criteria:

  • The program will run seven days a week, from mid-May through the end of October 2016.
  • The program is open to food trucks and food trailers where product is prepared inside the vehicle and dispensed externally. It does not include push carts, coffee wagons, or tow‑behind vehicle concession trailers, such as hot dog stands.
  • The deadline to submit an Expression of Interest is April 29, 2016.
  • Road Right-of-way Usage Permit authorization or denial will be by May 13, 2016.
  • The food truck and trailer program start date will be approximately May 20, 2016.

Specific operating criteria for interested food vendors can be obtained by contacting the City's Business Licensing Section at 250-828-3481, via email at, or by visiting the City's website at
