Open House ~ Columbia Street Reconstruction Project

Kamloops, B.C. – Columbia Street has been identified for reconstruction in the summer of 2015. The plan involves widening Columbia Street between 3rd Avenue and 6th Avenue to provide designated left turn lanes and new traffic signal infrastructure for the corridor. In addition, the project also includes the closure of the left turn on Columbia Street at 2nd Avenue.

On Wednesday, November 26th, the City will be hosting an open house at the First Baptist Church (454 Columbia Street) to share the reconstruction plan. Residents and business owners are encouraged to drop by any time between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm to view the plan.  City staff will be available to answer any questions.

The proposed road reconstruction plan will encompass structural road repairs, curbs, paving, addition of the left turns (widening), street lighting, sidewalk improvements, bus stop enhancements, centre medians, and traffic signal improvements.
