Access for Everyone!

Kamloops, B.C. –  The City of Kamloops is excited to announce that it will be opening public skating to participants in wheelchairs. This addition of accessible recreation to the Parks, Culture and Recreation programs is new to the fall 2014 skating season. These drop-in programs will be available at Brock and Valleyview arenas and will allow patrons in wheelchairs on the ice during public skating session. Helmets are mandatory for the person in the wheelchair. The wheelchair attendants must wear a helmet and skates.

All fall skating programs start September 22nd. Come out for one of the free value-added programs this season: Preschool Skating, Family Only, Adult Only and Seniors Only Skating. Also, don’t forget about special free Public Skate Events this fall sponsored by Tim Hortons. The City of Kamloops strongly recommends the use of CSA-approved helmets for all ages and all programs.

All program information including schedules, cancellations and program descriptions can be found at www.kamloops.ca/arenas
