Canada Day in Kamloops

Kamloops, B.C. –  On Tuesday, June 24, the City of Kamloops, the Kamloops Arts Council and the Kamloops Multicultural Society kicked off this year’s Canada Day celebrations at City Hall.

New this year for July 1st is Canada Day Pedal Parking! Hop on your bike, and be a part of an environmentally friendly and active Canada Day! The MS Society, Kamloops and Area Chapter is pleased to offer the first ever Pedal Parking at Canada Day in Kamloops. The Scotiabank MS Bike Pedal Parking will be located at the west side of Riverside Park in the Tennis Courts. Between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm, bring your own lock, and MS Society will supervise your bicycle for the day.

Canada Day Committee is pleased to welcome the Provincial Heritage Fair students, who will showcase their projects at Riverside Park from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The Chamber Musicians of Kamloops will perform Music for the Royal Fireworks on the east side of the park from 9:00 pm to 10:45 pm.

Kamloops Multicultural Society (KMS) was formed in 1975 out of a City appointed committee, for the purpose of organizing the City’s Canada Day and Folkfest celebrations. In the years since, the KMS has organized a fun family event that explores the diverse cultures of our city, from the International Food Fair to the cultural and community performance at the Rotary Bandshell at Riverside Park.

Kamloops Arts Council (KAC) is a registered non-profit organization that was formed in 1968 to encourages, supports and promotes local artists of all kinds, specifically emerging artists. Art in the Park, located on the east side of Riverside Park, is a premiere artist show and sale, as well as showcasing the talents of visual artist, musicians, theatre artists, dancers and community art groups.
