New Fire Chief Appointed

Kamloops, B.C. - The City of Kamloops is pleased to announce that Dale McLean has been appointed as Fire Chief for Kamloops Fire Rescue, effective Monday, October 21st, 2013.

Dale comes to Kamloops from Edmonton, where he has been a professional firefighter with the City of Edmonton Fire Rescue Service for 33 years. He was promoted through the ranks of Lieutenant, Captain, and Station Captain and served as Deputy Fire Chief for the past four years.

During his time with Edmonton Fire Rescue, Dale also served as an executive board member of the IAFF for 20 years. The City of Edmonton has over 1,100 IAFF members.

"We are pleased to welcome Dale to the City of Kamloops. His broad range of experience is an asset to Kamloops Fire Rescue," said Director of Corporate Services and Community Safety David Duckworth. "His excellent reputation with the City of Edmonton union and management staff makes him an excellent candidate for the job."
