Kamloops, B.C. - The City of Kamloops is reinforcing its reputation as Canada's Tournament Capital with the launch of its first-ever sports tourism attraction video project. The theme of this 2.5 minute high energy video is why Kamloops is Canada's Tournament Capital and focuses on powerful imagery of major events, sport and cultural facilities, volunteers and athlete support. The video, produced by local film production company Joy Factory Films, was test-marketed at a BC Lions game at BC Place Stadium in August as well as at the Kamloops Blazers home games since November 16th.
"The initial feedback from athletes, City staff, Kamloops residents and BC Lions fans has been overwhelmingly positive," says Jeff Putnam, Parks, Recreation Facilities and Business Operations Manager. "We really think we touched on why Kamloops is a spectacular sports and cultural hosting community."
The video will be launched on City of Kamloops social media platforms as well as streamed on the City's website. Future plans include using the video as a selling tool for sports bid proposals, trade shows and community events.
